How do I rotate an image online for free?
Drop the image in and tap the rotate left or rotate right button until it is upright. The preview updates at once. Download the result when it looks right; there is no sign-up and no watermark.
Fix a sideways photo in one tap. Nothing is uploaded.
Rotate an image 90 degrees to the left or right, or flip it horizontally or vertically, and see the result in the preview before you download. Use it to straighten sideways phone photos or mirror a picture. The image is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.

Tap rotate right to turn it 90 degrees clockwise, or rotate left to turn it 90 degrees counterclockwise. Each tap adds another quarter turn.
Tap the rotate button twice, in either direction. Two quarter turns make a half turn, which turns an upside-down photo the right way up.
Use the flip horizontal button to mirror the picture left to right, or flip vertical to turn it top to bottom. Flipping a selfie horizontally undoes the mirror effect some cameras apply.
Rotating turns the picture around its center, like turning a page, so nothing is reversed. Flipping mirrors it, like looking at it in a mirror, so text and faces come out reversed.
Phones often store a photo sideways and add a tag that tells viewers to turn it. Some programs ignore that tag. Rotate the picture until it looks upright in the preview, and the file you download shows it that way.
No. This page turns pictures in steps of 90 degrees and flips them. A small straightening angle is not available.
A phone or camera does not always turn the pixels when you hold it upright. Many store the picture in one fixed direction and add a small orientation tag that tells the viewer how to display it. Programs that read the tag show the photo correctly; programs that skip it show it sideways or upside down.
That is why the same file can look right in your gallery and wrong in an email or on a website. Rotate it here until it is upright in the preview, which matches the file you download.
Look at the text. If the top of the page points to the right, the image needs a quarter turn to the left; if it points to the left, turn it to the right. If the writing is upside down, two turns in either direction fix it. Scans of receipts and documents are the most common reason people rotate pictures.
After rotating a scan, you may want to trim away the desk or the scanner edge. Take the next step with the crop image page.
Flip a picture when it is a mirror image of what it should be. Front cameras often save selfies mirrored, so writing on a shirt or a sign reads backward; a horizontal flip corrects it. A vertical flip is rare; it is mostly used for pictures that came out upside down and mirrored at the same time.
Do not flip a photo with text or a logo you want readable, and be careful with images of people whose features are not symmetrical: a flipped portrait is not quite the same face.
Turning a picture does not change its dimensions beyond swapping width and height. If you need exact pixels for a profile or a form, set them with the resize tool, where rotation, flipping, cropping and size live together. And if the file is still heavy, the image compressor will make it smaller afterwards.
Rotation by itself does not remove information such as location or camera model. If you plan to share the photo publicly, check what it carries first with the EXIF viewer.

With the local MCP server, an assistant can rotate or flip images on your computer through the resize_image tool, for example “rotate these scans 90 degrees clockwise”. The files stay on your machine.
